Tennis: Lady Elephants nip Johnson

OAKWOOD -- Gainesville used a sweep of the doubles to pull out a 3-2 win over rival Johnson Thursday in Region 8B-AAA girls tennis action.

Lauren Carter and Martha McKinnon won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and Mady Wuest and Suzanne Smith took a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles for Gainesville (4-0, 2-0 in subregion). Georgia Summer helped seal the win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.

For Johnson, Maggie Turner won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and Harlee Robson took a 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
