North Hall grad McCormack burning up track for Clemson

Ty McCormack, a North Hall grad, was a double winner in the New Balance Invitational in New York this weekend.

McCormack won the 3-kilometer meter race with a time of 8 minutes, 15 seconds and anchored the Clemson distance relay team with the third-best time in Clemson history at 9:48.

McCormack remained undefeated this year after also recording wins in a 3-k race in Birmingham Ala., and a 4:10 mile in Clemson, S.C., over the past two weeks.

McCormack travels next weekend to Seattle to run a 5-k race.
