Boys basketball: Tigers hold off White County, stay perfect

DAWSONVILLE -- The Dawson County boys stayed perfect on the season with a tough Region 7-AAA 42-38 win over White County at home Tuesday night.

Gunnar Armstrong, who finished with 17 points to lead Dawson County, nailed a huge 3-point shot late in the game to tie the game and then propel the Tigers (9-0, 3-0) to the win.

Tyler Dominy added 10 points for Dawson County.

Spencer Adams led White County (4-5, 0-2) with a game-high 19 points.

Both teams started slow as the Tigers led just 5-4 after the first quarter. But Dawson County used an 18-10 second quarter to run out to a 23-14 halftime lead.

The Warriors used a 16-8 third quarter to pull within 31-30 heading into the fourth quarter. White County got the lead late inm the game but could not hold it after Armstrong's 3-pointer.
