MONROE -- West Hall used a 17-3 second quarter to blow open a close game en route to a 54-27 win over Monroe Area in region 8B-AAA girls basketball action Tuesday night.
The win for the Lady Spartans (6-15, 3-4 in subregion) snapped a two-game losing. But, the have won four of their last six overall.
The game was close early with West Hall leading just 14-11 after the first quarter. But the Lady Spartans took a 31-14 lead into halftime after their second quarter explosion.
Miranda Miller had 12 points and Maia Booker 11 to lead West Hall. Brooke Reed had 10 rebounds as 10 different players scored for the Lady Spartans.
Monroe Area (1-16, 0-7) was led by Brittany Morrisette with nine points.
