Safety rails to be installed at Hall Co. school gyms

GAINESVILLE - All six Hall County school competition gymnasiums will be getting an upgrade in the next six weeks, according to School Superintendent Will Schofield.

"We were not satisified with any of our competition gyms having a section with sturdy railings that particularly our senior citizens could get in and out and see their grandchildren compete or sing or play a particular sport," said Schofield.

Schofield said money for the safety railing project came from SPLOST revenues.

School board members okayed the expenditure at a meeting Monday night.
