"We were not satisified with any of our competition gyms having a section with sturdy railings that particularly our senior citizens could get in and out and see their grandchildren compete or sing or play a particular sport," said Schofield.
Schofield said money for the safety railing project came from SPLOST revenues.
School board members okayed the expenditure at a meeting Monday night.
