23 years of Shore Sweep

BUFORD - The Lake Lanier Association conducted the 23rd Annual Shore Sweep Saturday at thirteen locations around the lake.

For five hours, starting at 8:00, volunteers picked up trash around the lake and took it to these sites.

The thirteen collection points were:

Forsyth County

Bald Ridge Marina
Habersham Marina
Port Royale Marina

Gwinnett County

Lanier Harbor Marina

Hall County

Aqualand Marina
Clarks Bridge Park
Gainesville Marina
Hideaway Bay Marina
Holiday Marina
Lake Lanier Islands
Lazy Days Marina
Sunrise Cove Marina

For Shore Sweep this year, in addition to the day-of-event locations, there were also eight advance drop off locations around the lake, where bagged trash or large items could be left. Barges were scheduled to pick the trash and other items up Saturday morning. This was especially designed for those people not available to help with Shore Sweep Saturday.
