GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman has been indicted on murder charges in the death of a man at Ridgecrest Apartments earlier this month.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh confirmed Thursday night that Lasheena Kinnana Cantrell was indicted by a Hall County Grand Jury on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault and battery.

Eveccio Ballard, 26, died after he was stabbed around 1:00 a.m. Labor Day during an altercation involving three people.

Lt. Carol Martin of the Gainesville Police Department said at the time the 22-year-old Cantrell was also charged with battery involving a woman identified as Tasheen Collins.

Police and prosecutors have not said what led to the incident.
