DAWSONVILLE - A 20-year-old man faces at least seven charges in connection with an overnight accident in Dawson County that left a 13-year-old girl hospitalized in serious condition, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Capt. Tony Wooten with the Dawson County Sheriff's Department says Allan Dire was driving a pickup that crashed at Harmony Church Road and Georgia 400 Monday night. Wooten says that Dire had first hit a car in the Kroger parking lot on 400 and left the scene headed north on the four-lane.
Sheriff's deputies pursued the pickup until the driver lost control on Harmony Church Road and slammed into a utility pole, bringing down power lines. The girl was trapped in the wreckage for nearly 90 minutes before being freed.
She is hospitalized in serious condition at Egleston Hospital in Atlanta.
