BLUE RIDGE -- Fannin County took over sole possession of first place in Region 8A-AA with a 6-0 win over Union County Tuesday night in girls softball action.
The Lady Rebels (9-7, 4-1 in subregion) allowed just five hits while battering Union County's Angie Hughes for six runs on eight hits, including a home run.
The Lady Panthers (14-5, 3-2) have lose three of their last five games after opening the season 12-2.
Union County next will play host to Banks County in a battle for second place on Thursday.
Fannin County will travel to East Hall on Thursday.
