Barrow Co. soldier dies in Afghanistan

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has confirmed the death of a Barrow County soldier, Staff Sgt. Keith Rudd, in Parvan, Afghanistan.

Sgt. Rudd, who was 36 and from Winder, died Saturday of wounds sustained while supporting combat operations, according to military officials.

He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division.
