By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter
BUFORD -- Four-time defending Class AA state champion Buford played the role of rude host on Friday night, dismantling Yulee, Fla., 49-7 in a nationally televised game at Tom Riden Stadium.

The No. 1-ranked Wolves rolled up 433 yards of offense and held the visitors to just 156 -- 113 of that coming from running back Derrick Henry.

Six different Buford players scored touchdowns on Friday, while 10 different players recorded rushing plays, including lineman Vadal Alexander, who scored on a seven-yard run. Andre' Johnson paced all Wolves rushers with 54 yards on eight carries.

Meanwhile, Buford quarterback Sam Clay put up an impressive performance through the air, going 10 of 14 for 177 yards and two scores.

The Wolves scored on their first four possessions on offense on a variety of plays. Buford took the lead on a 6-yard touchdown run by Andre Johnson following a short drive and then added a second score just 1:53 later on a 49-yard run from C.J. Moore.

Buford (4-0) would make it 21-0 early in the second quarter when Moore scored again on a 46-yard pass from Sam Clay. The most interesting score of the night came when offensive lineman Alexander score on a 7-yard run after taking a intentionally bounced lateral from Clay after Clay faked a roll-out.

Shawn Reynolds finished the scoring for Buford late in the fourth quarter on a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Buford defense forced five Yulee turnovers. The only Yulee score came with 43 seconds left in the game on a 76-yard run from Georgia-commit Derrick Henry.

The Wolves will play host to Therrell next week as they begin play in Region 6-AA.
