Woman dies while tubing the Chattahoochee

CLEVELAND - A 67-year-old woman from Montgomery, Alabama, died over the weekend while tubing down the Chattahoochee River in Helen.

White County Corner Ricky Barrett said Tuesday, Martha McMurtrey's tube flipped over as it went under the Main Street bridge Sunday.

Barrett said McMurtrey had some trouble breathing and was pulled from the water and taken to shore but by then she had stopped breathing. He said CPR was started which was not successful.
