COMMERCE -- The Lakeview Academy girls volleyball team won its first Region 8-AA/A match of the season Thursday in a tri-match.
The Lady Lions (8-6, 1-1 in subregion) rallied to beat East Jackson 20-25, 25-17, 25-15. They fell to Hart County 27-25, 25-12 in the second match.
Jamie Nixon paced Lakeview with 12 kills on the night. Mona Abraham and Lindsey Brock had seven kills apiece for the Lady Lions. Molly Gay added 11 assists and Megan McIntire had three assists for Lakeview.
Lakeview next will travel to Jackson County on Tuesday.
