OAKWOOD -- When West Hall needed a spark on Tuesday, Ashely Neal was there to provide it.
Tied 4-4 with Monroe Area in the bottom of the sixth, Neal stepped to the plate and belted a two-run home run to provide the winning runs in an eventual 6-5 victory in Oakwood.
Neal, a sophomore, led the way at the plate throughout on Tuesday, finishing 2-for-3, including the two crucial RBIs.
Miranda Miller also starred for West Hall (4-3, 1-0 Region 8-AAA), going 2-for-2 while also picking up the win in the pitching circle. The senior allowed seven hits and just two earned runs.
The Lady Spartans will travel to face Lumpkin County on Thursday in Dahlonega.
