Uggla has 15-game streak but still below .200

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA -- A scoring change from Sunday's game in Cincinnati has given Dan Uggla, hitting below .200, a 15-game hitting streak and a claim to a statistical anomaly.

According to STATS, LLC, Uggla's .197 batting average is the lowest for any player since 1946 to carry a hitting streak of 15 games or longer after at least 100 games.

Third baseman Miguel Cairo was given an error on Uggla's sixth-inning at-bat in the Reds' 4-3 win on Sunday. The Braves say the ruling was changed to a hit for Uggla on Monday.

According to STATS, Julio Lugo was hitting .225 through a 15-game hitting streak through 102 games for Boston in 2007. That was the previous low mark for a player with a 15-game streak this late in the season.
