STATHAM - Two Barrow County 13-year-olds who led police on a daylong manhunt into South Carolina are back home and awaiting their fate.
Statham police Chief Steve Martin says the teens' case has been turned over to juvenile court. He says the teens, a neighboring boy and girl, disappeared overnight Monday with about $6,000 of their parents' money in the girl's mother's pickup truck.
Martin says police found the teens Wednesday more than 150 miles from home after they crashed the truck while fleeing South Carolina state troopers. The girl was injured in the crash but has since recovered enough to go home.
Martin says the teens will face charged related to the stolen truck and money and for running away. He says the court proceedings will be sealed because they are juvenile cases.
