GAINESVILLE - It's not unusual for a vehicle to have a collision with an animal, but an accident Sunday afternoon in Hall County was a bit out of the ordinary. That's because the animal involved was a small black bear.
The Georgia State Patrol said the bear was hit and killed just before 1:30 p.m. by a truck carrying a camper that was leaving Duckett Mill Campground in northwest Hall County.
No one in the vehicle was injured.
A GSP spokesman said this time of year bears tend to be more migratory, so it's not that unusual to see them at the campground.
