ATLANTA - Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal will honor Georgia soldiers killed overseas.
The ceremony Thursday at the state Capitol will pay tribute to the 22 Georgia servicemen killed last year in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Republican governor will be joined by First Lady Sandra Deal and Georgia National Guard Brig. Gen. Phil Browning at the annual state Memorial Day ceremony.
Lt. Col. Kevin Jarrard, commandant of Riverside Military Academy in Gaineville, will deliver the keynote address.
Deal served as a commissioned captain in the U.S. Army and, as a member of the JAG Corps, he taught law to military police.
