8-AAA Tournament: Oconee boys knock out Chestatee

MONROE -- Chestatee opened its season with a win over Oconee County. Unfortunately for the War Eagles, the Warriors got the last word.

Oconee County held off Chestatee 49-40 Tuesday night in the first round of the Region 8-AAA Tournament.

Byron Stuffken poured in 16 points to lead the Warriors (7-19) who will face No. 3-ranked and top-seed West Hall Thursday at West Hall.

Connor White added 12 points and Kevin Bevillard had seven points and 12 rebounds for Oconee County.

Chestatee ended the season with a 5-20 record.
