ELBERTON - Officials in Elbert County say a European plastics company plans to lease space in Elberton's industrial park in a move that could bring about 70 jobs to the northeast Georgia city.
The Development Authority of Elbert County, Elberton and Bowman agreed on Wednesday to buy a $2 million building to house the company.
An authority spokeswoman says company and authority officials will inspect the 130,000-square-foot structure in the industrial park off Georgia Highway 72 between Elberton and Athens before signing a lease agreement.
Anna Jones, an economic developer with the authority, says the company plans to make plastic parts for cars. She says the company's name will be revealed after it signs a lease.
