Hall County woman promoted to District Planning and Programming Engineer for Northeast Georgia

GAINESVILLE - Department of Transportation Interim District Engineer, Todd McDuffie is proud to announce the appointment of Kim Reed Coley as District Planning and Programming Engineer for Northeast Georgia's District One. District One covers 21 counties in Northeast Georgia. Kim has worked with DOT since 1990. She began her career at DOT as a summer employee and returned later that year as a secretary. Kim has moved up through the ranks at DOT serving as Secretary-Typist Senior, Engineering Technician in Construction, Traffic Operations Technician, Traffic Operations Engineer and District Environmentalist.<br /> <br /> She will be responsible for environmental services as well as planning and programming construction projects throughout the district. She will schedule projects and work with local officials and Metropolitan Planning Organizations to ensure preconstruction projects meet their timelines.<br /> <br /> Kim has been involved in many organizations during her employment with GDOT. Kim has been a member of the Georgia Department of Transportation Engineer's Association for twenty years and has held every office within this organization during that time. She was named "Member of the Year" three times. She serves as President for the Gainesville Chapter. She also serves as a member of the District Co-Op Committee. Kim has coordinated and chaired the Relay for Life Team for the District Office of DOT. <br /> <br /> Kim is a native of Hall County, where she resides with husband Brian. She has a son, Justin, and two granddaughters, Mckenzie Coley, age 2, and Rylee Coley, age 1.
