Hall steps up Census promotion

GAINESVILLE - Hall County is ramping up promotion of this year's Census with a website that has been developed by the Hall County Complete Count Committee to promote the head count.

The committee is charged with spreading the word about the importance of Census... with an emphasis on the $13,000 in federal funding that each returned questionnaire will generate.

"That s why it is so important that we encourage our citizens to be counted and to help the elderly, non-English speakers and others in filling out their questionnaires," county spokeswoman Nikki Young said.

In addition, Hall County employees will be wearing Census buttons and distributing information after the Census questionnaires are mailed on March 1.
