OAKWOOD - West Hall outscored Lambert 38-14 in the second and third quarters to erase a first quarter deficit en route to a much-needed 70-52 win in Region 7B-AAA action Friday night.
Jarquise Young had a huge game for the Spartans (10-7, 2-4 in subregion) with 23 points. Shunquez Stephens added11 for West Hall.
Lambert (5-10, 1-5) led 17-16 after the first quarter but then West Hall exploded to take a 54-31 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Spartans needed the win to stay within striking distance of fourth place Gainesville (6-7, 3-2) in the subregion standings. West ll will play host to Gainesville Tuesday in a key matchup for both teams.
