CLEVELAND - Six of eight people packed into a compact car - two of them in the trunk - were injured Tuesday night near the Hall-White county line when the car left the road and hit a tree.
Capt. Jim Couch of the White County Sheriff's Office says the accident occurred about 10:15.
Couch said two Life Flight helicopters and four ground ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Two of the victims, who were most seriously hurt, were airlifted from the scene... one to Grady Memorial Hospital and the other to Gwinnett Medical Center.
Capt. Couch said all but two of the victims were from Cleveland; the other two were from Braselton. He says charges are pending.
