Gainesville man ordered to prison for 30 years

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man has been ordered to spend the next 30 years in prison after being found guilty of child molestation.

Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh says David A. Cobb was ordered to serve the entire length of his sentence because of his prior criminal record.

Darragh said the molestation involved one victim and occurred repeatedly over a 16-month period ending in February 2007.

This was the second trial for Cobb on the charges. Darragh says the first trial ended in a hung jury which resulted in a mistrial. The jury in this week's trial deliberated for 17 hours before reaching a verdict.
