SUGAR HILL - The anchor for the "new" downtown Sugar Hill will be a new City Hall.
It will be built on West Broad Street at the old Nu-Air site and within a realignment of Church Street and Temple Drive.
The new City Hall will be much larger that the current facility, designed to accommodate the future growth of the city and an increasing need for services.
The "new" downtown also includes plans for street trees, street lamps, benches, and wide sidewalks with brick accents.
City officials say several meetings are planned to solicit community input on the design of an early 20th century look for the new City Hall. A variety of designs and sketches will be available for review.
