SUWANEE - A noontime fire Saturday damaged the building housing Blockbuster Linen Services in Suwanee.
Capt. Thomas Rutledge of the Gwinnett County Fire Department said firefighters found heavy smoke showing from the back of the building, which he described as a "large commercical warehouse."
Rutledge said the fire - in a piece of textile machinery - was quickly extinguished.
The blaze caused moderate damage to the machinery and sent smoke throughout a portion of the building. The business was open at the time and employees tried to douse the flames with portable fire extinguishers. Approximately 15-20 employees were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported.
There was no damage to the structure.
The PIO responded to the scene.
