Flooding reported in NE Ga.

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
UNDATED - Some creeks and streams in Banks and Jackson counties have been overflowing today as heavy rains continue across north Georgia and there are reports of some street flooding in Gainesville. In addition, some roads in Forsyth County have been closed because they are covered with water.

In addition, parts of Banks and Jackson have been added to the list of counties where Flast Flood Warnings are in effect.

The Banks County Emergency Management Agency Director said at mid-morning that Webbs Creek was beginning to flood Webbs Creek Road and the road was being closed. Also, Crooked Creek between the Pottery Mall and Tanger Outlett Mall at Banks Crossing was out of its banks and beginning to flood some parking lots along I-85 and U.S. 441.

In Forsyth County, the sheriff's office reported at 11:00 that three roads were closed because of flooding: Tidwell Road at the creek; Fowler Road, just south of Harrison Lane; and, Shiloh Road near McFarland Parkway, where crews are also evaluating a sink hole.

In Gainesville, standing water was causing some traffic problems at Limestone Parkway and Jessee Jewell Parkway.
