Bridgeman becomes Assistant D.A. for Mountain Circuit

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
UNDATED - Former Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney Rick Bridgeman has accepted a prosecuting position in another northeast Georgia circuit.

Bridgeman was appointed to the Piedmont post by Gov. Sonny Perdue after Tim Madison resigned in the wake of a corruption investigation. He sought election to the office last year, but came in third in a three-way race with Brad Smith and Donna Sikes. Smith eventually won a runoff with Sikes and took office Jan. 1. The Peidmont Cirucit covers Banks, Barrow and Jackson counties.

Bridgeman said last week he is returning to the Mountain Judicial Circuit - which includes Habersham, Stephens and Rabun counties - where he will again serve as an Assistant District Attorney.
