New traffic signals activated

GAINESVILLE - Some new traffic signals are being activated in Gainesville this week, in case you haven't noticed.

A new signal at the intersection of E.E. Butler Parkway and the I-985 south ramp was scheduled to become operational at 10 a.m. Thursday. City Traffic Engineer Dee Taylor says it was installed in response to traffic demands, and will facilitate the new dual left turn lanes at the south interstate ramp.

The newly rebuilt signal at the intersection of Butler and the 985 north ramp was activated Wednesday morning.
