2 armed robberies, 2 arrests

GAINESVILLE - It was not a good weekend for armed robbers in Gainesville. They went 0-2.

The latest incident occurred Sunday night when a taxi driver was robbed at Lanier Terrace Apartments.

The suspect was captured a short time later, according to Gainesville Police Lt. Floyd Canup, who says Luis Daniel Ramos Davila was arrested on Dorsey Street.

The cabbie, who says the robber was armed with a gun, was not hurt.

Early Saturday a man wanted for robbing the Sonic Drive-In Restaurant on Dawsonville Highway was arrested within minutes of that holdup. (See separate story).
