Woman accused of taking $548K from employers

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County Grand Jury indictment accuses a woman of stealing $548,000 from two Gainesville doctors groups.

Named in the 29-count indictment, which was returned on Monday, is Dianne J. Ray.

"(This) involved a theft from her employer," Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said Wednesday morning.

According to the indictment, the thefts - from Gastroenterology Associates and Gainesville Endoscopy - began as early as June 1998 and continued until as late as last July.

The charges include two counts of theft by taking and 27 counts of theft by deception. All are felony grade charges.
