12 die in holiday wrecks in Ga.

ATLANTA - One traffic fatality was reported in northeast Georgia over the holiday weekend.

It occurred in Fannin County, according to the state patrol.

Elsewhere in the area, there were 264 accidents with 83 injuries.

The patrol post in Gainesville reports working 51 accidents with 19 injuries.

Statewide, there were 2.480 traffic accidents resulting in 721 injuries and 12 fatalities. Troopers had predicted that 19 people would die on the state's roads over the three-day holiday weekend, which ended at midnight Monday night.
