FLOWERY BRANCH - A two-story house near Flowery Branch was gutted by fire Tuesday morning.
The blaze happened about 8 a.m. on Martin Road, which was closed for a time about two miles off Falcon Parkway. Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said the fire was called in by someone driving down the road.
Firefighters also called in a visual of the fire from Station 5 which is on Falcon Parkway. Cagle said the 1,500-square-foot log cabin style home, located at 4433 Martin Road, was already fully involved when firefighters got there.
"Being a log cabin, these type of structures burn very quickly," he said.
The owners, listed as Raymond and Tammy Maney, were not home at the time of the fire.
Cagle said while an investigation is still underway to determine the cause of the fire, the house has been ruled a total loss.
