ATLANTA - A bill that would create a third State Court judgeship in Hall County has cleared its first reading by the Georgia House.
The County Commission earlier this year asked the legislature to approve the position, citing the increased workload of the court.
In making his case for a new judge, Chief Judge Charles Wynne told the commission last month "this is also a revenue-generating court and the third judge, when brought on board, will pay for itself."
According to the legislative Web site, first reading on the bill was held Thursday.
