UNDATED - Forsyth County is among the areas where some storm damage occurred early Tuesday, but Hall County escaped with only a couple of down trees, gusty winds and a few traffic accidents.
The sheriff's office in Cumming reported that between 6:40 and 8 a.m., Forsyth County 911 received numerous calls related to the fast moving storm. 911 received 11 calls involving trees and/or power lines down. Two of those calls involved trees on houses. One was at Union Hill and Shiloh Road and the other was on Fernbank Drive.
Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins said the sheriff's office responded to three motor vehicle accidents during the storm but there were no injuries in either.
In addition, wires reported on the ground at several locations, including Atlanta Highway and Strickland Road; Tidwell Road at James Road; and Union Hill Road at Shiloh Road.
There was a report of a possible tornado touching down at 4954 Shiloh Road. The caller said she saw it touch down in her backyard. There was damage to trees and power lines at that location, but no structural damage.
Hall County appears to have escaped any serious damage from the storms. Only a couple of trees were reported down. There were also nine traffic accidents reported between 6:30 and 9:15 a.m., most of them minor and with only one minor injury.
