FLOWERY BRANCH -- The seventh-ranked Flowery Branch boys basketball wrapped up the No. 1 seed in Region 7B-AAA on Friday night, courtesy a 57-46 win over West Forsyth in Flowery Branch.
The Falcons (19-3, 8-0 Region 7B-AAA) overcame a slow start, scoring 21 points in the second quarter to take a 32-17 lead at the half.
Flowery Branch managed just six points in the third quarter, allowing West Forsyth to claw within 38-34. But the Falcons regained control in the fourth quarter, pulling away for the victory.
A.C. Bailey scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Flowery Branch. Ishmael Hollis also scored 11 points, while Brian Welchel added nine.
Kris Drees scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Wolverines. Lance Baker also scored 11, while Shaeem McClaren added 10.
Flowery Branch plays host to Gainesville at 7 p.m. Tuesday. West Forsyth travels to Dawson County at 6 p.m. Saturday.
