Two-day work week for Hall employees

GAINESVILLE - This will be a shorter work week than Hall County employees were expecting when the year began.

They knew they were going to be off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but then came the directive from the county commission for mandatory, unpaid furloughs.

That means that they'll be off Friday as well, but won't get paid for that day.

The first of the furlough days came Oct. 31 and the second the day before Thanksgiving. The next one is scheduled for Jan. 20.
