GAINESVILLE - Hall County Sheriff Steve Cronic confirmed Tuesday that the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office are now the lead agencies in the expanding fraud investigation involving North Georgia Equipment Sales.
In addition, Cronic confirmed that the "person of interest" in the case is Wendell Spell. Authorities have been trying to locate Spell for several days.
