FLOWERY BRANCH - Hall County commissioner Bobby Banks says the county's new South Hall sewage plant will "move the county forward for decades to come."
Banks held a news conference at the site on Spout Springs Road Monday.
The county took control of the plant, formerly known as the John Wieland Wastewater Plant, January 1.
"This facility, along with the Mulberry Creek project, will move the county forward for decades to come," Banks said.
Purchased for $13.8 million, to be repaid by customers through tap-on and service fees, the Spout Springs Reuse Facility, as it will be known, will, county officials say, complement the Mulberry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. This, they say, will enable the county to meet service requirements for most of South Hall.
