GAINESVILLE - The Northeast Georgia History Center is honoring all military veterans and their families with four special week-end receptions - starting this weekend.
Each weekend will feature free admission to the History Center, which includes the American Freedom Garden where the names of nearly 700 veterans and their military records have been engraved on granite pillars.
Each of the week-end family receptions honor veterans of a specific time period in history beginning Saturday with Vietnam War era vets. The hours are 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday.
The rest of the schedule is as follows:
Korean War Veterans -- Saturday, Oct. 6, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 7, 1 to 4 p.m.
