Athens golfer takes Georgia Open title

EVANS - Jeff Hull of Athens posted an even par 72 on Sunday to win the Your Community PhoneBook Georgia Open.<br> <br> Hull had four birdies on the Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, none bigger than an 85-footer on the par-three 17th which gave him the lead over Luke List of Ringgold before List rolled in a 12-footer that tied the pair at 9-under-par.<br> <br> List, a former Vanderbilt star, missed his chance to force a playoff when he bogeyed the final hole, matching Hull&#39;s closing 72. Hull had a 279 total for 72 holes, List 280.<br> <br> Third place went to an amateur, David Noll Jr. of Dalton, who closed with a 1-under 71 and finished two shots behind the winner.<br> <br> Former PGA Tour player John Engler of Augusta and mini tour professional Jay McLuen of Colbert finished tied for fourth place at six-under par 282. Engler closed with a 68, McLuen a 73.<br> <br> The low round of the day belonged to former Georgia Tech All-American Roberto Castro of Alpharetta, who had a bogey free 5-under par 67 to finish the tournament in a tie for sixth at 283.
