New Gainesville Salvation Army commanders

GAINESVILLE - Captains Chad and Jessica Williams are the new commanders of the Salvation Army office in Gainesville.

The couple replaces Vic and Ellen Tidman who left earlier this summer for the Salvation Army's Eastern Europe Division.

The new commanders most recently served in Waycross , where they were posted for four years, according to a posting on the agency's Web site.

The Williams have two children and have been Salvation Army Officers for seven years.

Captain Chad Williams is a first generation Salvation Army Officer, who parents were active in the Salvation Army in Athens. He has a sister who is a Salvation Army Officer in Moundsville, West Virginia.

Captain Jessica Williams is a third generation Salvation Army Officer. Her parents are Salvation Army Officers in Morgantown, West Virginia. She has a brother who is the Assistant Divisional Music Director for the Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi Salvation Army Division.
