ROBERTSDALE, Ala. - A 44-year-old Athens cardiologist and his 13-year-old son died Sunday when their SUV collided head-on with a van in south Alabama.
The crash happened just after 9 a.m. on Alabama 59.
Killed were Dr. Allen Mays, 44, and his 12-year-old son, Madison. Mays' wife, Rachel, 43, and their daughter, Tabitha, 10, were injured but not seriously.
