Pedestrian hit by car

GAINESVILLE - A pedestrian was injured when hit by a car on the southside of Gainesville Friday night.

Lt. Nina Harkins of the Gainesville Police Department says it happened happened on Butler Parkway near Atlanta Street.

Mark Young was taken to the medical center for treatment of what were called "visible injuries."

Lt. Harkins says Young was at fault and was charged with "Pedestrian under the Influence of Alcohol and Pedestrian in the Roadway."

The accident happened about 10:15.
