More time to comment on new stream buffer rules

GAINESVILLE - The public is getting additional time to comment on proposed new stream buffer rules for the state.

The state Department of Natural Resources Board of Directors, meeting in Gainesville this week, was asked Monday to delay a vote on the new regulations for at least 30 days to allow more public comment time.

More public hearings are possible before the controversial matter goes before the board again in June.
