GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville man has been sent to prison for twelve years for attempting to run over a drug agent with his car, according to Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh.
Desmond Jones was found guilty last month. Darragh says the incident happened a year ago at Floyd Road and Old Athens Highway.
Darragh said Thursday such cases are becoming more and more common.
"Well, unfortunately, it seems to be a weapon of choice to just try to run over police officers with a vehicle," he said.
Darragh notes that this was the "fourth or fifth" such case his office has closed in just a few months.
