Lanier Tech program wins top award

ATLANTA - The Motorsports program at Lanier Tech has been chosen to receive a national award.

The award - for Outstanding Technical Program - is from the American Technical Education Association which is holding its 44th annual meeting in Atlanta this week.

The award recognizes "an outstanding technical program at a postsecondary technical education institution anywhere in the nation (but it) must be exemplary and contribute to the nation's workforce. "

Lanier Tech's Motorsports program was started in 2001.
