LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky has tweaked its football schedule for the 2007 season, a move that will give the Wildcats eight home games next fall.
Instead of playing at Temple on Sept. 8 as originally planned, the Wildcats will host Kent State after the Mid-American Conference asked Kentucky to change opponents due to scheduling issues. As part of the switch, the Wildcats will host Temple in 2008 and travel to Temple in 2011.
Kentucky also flip-flopped opponents on Sept. 22 and Sept. 29. The Wildcats will now play at Arkansas on Sept. 22 before hosting Florida Atlantic on Sept. 29.
The scheduling change was necessary after the Wildcats' game at South Carolina was moved to Thursday, Oct. 4. Kentucky officials requested switching the Arkansas and Florida Atlantic games because they were worried about Kentucky having to make two road trips within a five-day stretch.
The Wildcats went 8-5 last season, beating Clemson in the Music City Bowl.
